Shikhar Dhawan IPL Career

In the inaugural season, Shikhar Dhawan played for Delhi Daredevils where he performed well by hitting 4 half-centuries. He was the third-highest scorer batsman of the team. In the next season, he was traded to Mumbai Indians and replaced with Ashish Nehra. He played two seasons for Mumbai Indian and subsequently was bought by Deccan Chargers for Rs. 1.38 crore in 2011.

In 2013 & 2014, he was selected as the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad where he managed the team well, but failed to lift the IPL trophy. In 2015, he scored 259 runs in 14 matches finishing Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 6th place.

In 2016, David Warner joined as the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad. Dhawan alongside Warner, made a good batting line up where he scored 501 runs in 17 matches. Dhawan becomes the 5th highest run-scorer in that IPL tournament. In the next season, he was retained by SRH in 2017 where he scored 479 runs in 14 matches.

In 2018 IPL auction, Sunrisers Hyderabad bought him for Rs. 5.2 crores where Dhawan scored 497 runs. SRH finished runners up after losing to Chennai Super Kings in the final. Later, he was traded to Delhi Capitals in 2019 and after his performance named as the Crincifo IPL XI.
