United India Insurance Company Limited

One of the preferred insurers in India, United India as a general insurance company was incorporated on 18th February 1938 and was nationalised in 1972. United India insurance Company Limited is wholly owned by the government of India.

After nationalisation of the general insurance business in India, 12 Indian Insurance companies, four Cooperative Insurance Societies, Indian operations of five insurers, and General Insurance operations of the southern region of Life Insurance Corporation of India(LIC) merged with United India Insurance Company Limited.

Over the years, United India Insurance Company Limited has grown tremendously both in terms of expansion and revenue. Today, the company has an 18,300 workforce spread across 1340 offices providing insurance cover to more than one crore policy holders. Right from bullock carts to satellites, the company provides insurance cover to most of the industrial sectors.
