4. Tax Saving ELSS Mutual Funds

ELSS or Equity Linked Savings Scheme, a part of Equity Funds invests a proportion of its corpus in equity and equity-related instruments. However, one of the factors that distinguishes ELSS from other schemes is that it is a tax saving Mutual Fund. Any investment in ELSS up to INR 1,50,000 can be claimed as tax deduction under Section 80C of income tax Act, 1961. ELSS comes with a lock-in period of three years.
